Many of the leading scientific institutions of today , like the Archaeological Survey of India , the Zoological Survey of India , the Botanical and Geological Surveys of India as well as the Indian Museum in Calcutta , the oldest and biggest in India , owe their origin to this Society . कलकत्ता की द आर्कियालोजिकल सर्वे ऑफ इंडिया , द जूलोजिकल सर्वे आफ इंडिया , द बोटेनिकल एंड जियोलॉजिकल सर्वे आफ इंडिया और इनके साथ ही भारत में सबसे पुराने और सबसे बड़े द इंडियन म्यूजियम जैसी आज की अग्रणी वैज्ञानिक संस्थाएं इसी सोसायटी की ऋणी हैं .
