In his autobiography, Akbar has written - If I had developed this intellectual insight earlier, I would have never abducted any woman for my harem. अपनी जीवनी में अकबर ने स्वयं लिखा है- यदि मुझे पहले ही यह बुधिमत्ता जागृत हो जाती तो मैं अपनी सल्तनत की किसी भी स्त्री का अपहरण कर अपने हरम में नहीं लाता।

Apart from that, from his account of repentance for abducting, it is proved that, neither during Akbar's reign nor during the reign of his descendants, harems were abolished. इसके अलावा अपहरण न करवाने वाली बात की निरर्थकता भी इस तथ्य से ज्ञात होती है कि न तो अकबर के समय में और न ही उसके उतराधिकारियो के समय में हरम बंद हुई थी।

It is said that some people of Akbar whenever used to see some beautiful woman they used to forcefully take her to harem by telling it as the order of the king. तब कहा जाता है कि अकबर के कुछ लोग जिस सुन्दर स्त्री को सती होते देखते थे बलपूर्वक जाकर सती होने से रोक देते व उसे सम्राट की आज्ञा बताते तथा उस स्त्री को हरम में डाल दिया जाता था।

Then they used to tell that some of the Akbar's men who if had seen a beautiful woman doing Sati would stop her by force telling them it is the Emperor's command and then the woman was put into the Harem. तब कहा जाता है कि अकबर के कुछ लोग जिस सुन्दर स्त्री को सती होते देखते थे बलपूर्वक जाकर सती होने से रोक देते व उसे सम्राट की आज्ञा बताते तथा उस स्त्री को हरम में डाल दिया जाता था।

However, some Rajput ladies accepted Islam when entered Harem but they had full religious autonomy. Besides, their relatives those who were Hindu got high post in the court. हालांकि कुछ राजपूत स्त्रियों ने अकबर के हरम में प्रवेश लेने पर इस्लाम स्वीकार किया फिर भी उन्हें पूर्ण धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता थी साथ ही उनके सगे-संबंधियों को जो हिन्दू ही थे; दरबार में उच्च-स्थान भी मिले थे।

They recall insane acts , like those of Sultan Ibrahim of the Ottoman Empire who drowned his entire harem when he was told that one of them enjoyed a relationship with a eunuch . ये पागलपन की हरकतें लगती हैं , मिसाल के तौर पर उस्मानिया सल्तनत के सुल्तान इब्राहिम को जब यह पता चल कि उसकी हरम की एक महिल का किसी हिजड़ै से संबंध है तो उसने अपनी हरम की सारी औरतों को पानी में ड़ुबाकर मार ड़ाल .

Howeverm, some Rajput women adopted Islam after getting into Akbar Harem, but still they had religious freedom, at the same their relatives given superior post in the Court who were still Hindu. हालांकि कुछ राजपूत स्त्रियों ने अकबर के हरम में प्रवेश लेने पर इस्लाम स्वीकार किया फिर भी उन्हें पूर्ण धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता थी साथ ही उनके सगे-संबंधियों को जो हिन्दू ही थे; दरबार में उच्च-स्थान भी मिले थे।

Even at this young age, in order to bring the wife of Bairum Khan to his harem, he got him, one of the topmost, patriotic officers, killed after taking away all his rights and soon after he brought his wife, Saleema Sultan, who was mother of his 6-year old son Abdul Rahim, to his harem. इतनी कम आयु में भी उसने बैरम खां की पत्नी को हरम में लेने के लिए एक सर्वोच्च राजभक्त कर्मचारी के समस्त अधिकार छीनकर उसकी हत्या करवा दी और तुरंत बाद उसकी बीबी सलीमा सुल्तान जो उसके ६ वर्षीय पुत्र अब्दुल रहीम की माँ थी को अपने हरम में ले लिया।

It is as though he suddenly tires of continuing the narrative and wants to finish it somehow so as to attend to the demands of some other Muse in his harem , or that he gets squeamish and afraid of a character getting the upper hand and going its own way in ' defiance of the author 's moral and social inhibitions . ऐसा लगता है कि कहानी कहते कहते एक बारगी थक गए हैं और किसी तरह इसे खत्म करना चाहते हैं ताकि अपने शयनकक्ष में जाकर किसी दूसरी कलादेवी की मांग पूरी कर सकें या फिर वे किसी पात्र से सहम और डर जाते हैं कि वह लेखक के मानसिक और सामाजिक सीमाओं को अनदेखी कर उन्हें तोड़ने की जुर्रत न कर बैठे .
