The city contains a total of 12 Centre of Institute for Space Research; the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics; the Institute of Cell Biology; the National Institute of Strategic Studies; the Institute of Neuro-mathematical Simulation in Power Engineering; and the Institute of Ecology of the Carpathians.

Their mathematical simulations, worked out with the help of Cray super computers at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, show that in a machine as large as ITER ( which would be roughly 100 feet high and 100 feet in diameter ), turbulence around the outer edge of the burning plasma fuel could destroy the machine's efficiency.
