On the contrary , some of the displaced persons from Bangladesh -LRB- East Pakistan -RRB- are still hovering around Calcutta , Howrah Bridge and Dandakaranya , in search of livelihood and their condition is very miserable as they do not seem to have completely recovered from the shock of the partition of the country . ठीक इसके विपरीत बंग्लादेश ( पूर्वी बंगाल ) से आए विस्थापितों में से कुछ लोग आज भी कलकत्ता , हावड़ा पुल व दंडकारण्य के बीच रोजी-रोटी तथा आश्रय की तलाश में भटक रहे हैं और उनकी स्थिति अत्यंत दयनीय है क्योंकि अभी तक देश के विभाजन के सदमे से वे अपने को मुक्त नहीं कर सके हैं .

He further called the King a sovereign , pensioner and a traitor : ” That the prisoner was a pensioned subject of the British Government in India and as the British Government neither deprived him nor any member of his family of any sovereignty whatever , but , on the contrary , relieving them from misery and oppression , bestowed on them largesse and pensions aggregating many millions of pounds sterling , this traitor rushed to seize the first possible opportunity of overthrowing and destroying the government of his benefactors . आगे चलकर अभियोक्ता ने बहादुरशाह को प्रभुसत्ता-संपन्न , पेंशनभोगी और विश्वासघाती कहा : ” तथ्य यह है कि बंदी , भारत में ब्रिटिश हुकूमत की , पेंशनभोगी प्रजा था और ब्रिटिश सरकार ने उसे या उसके परिवार के किसी भी सदस्य को प्रभुसत्ता से वंचित नहीं किया था.इतना ही नहीं , उसे गरीबी और तकलीफ भरी जिंदगी से छुटकारा दिलाने के लिए लाखों पौंड की पेंशन और मदद दी गयी थी.इसके बावजूद इस विश्वासघाती ने अपनी ही संरक्षक सरकार को उखाड़ फेंकने का पहला मौका तक नहीं गंवाया .
