The preamble makes a declaration that the constitution derives its powers directly from the public; that is why the preamble begins with the sentence ‘We, the People of India'. प्रस्तावना यह घोषणा करती है कि संविधान अपनी शक्ति सीधे जनता से प्राप्त करता है इसी कारण यह ‘हम भारत के लोग' इस वाक्य से प्रारम्भ होती है।
