I am writing to you about Amazon's handling of the Bellwether-Koran imbroglio. I would agree that a bookseller who intentionally and repeatedly sends out books that contain inappropriate inscriptions should be removed from Amazon. We would have done that while we were running Bibliofind, though no occasion for doing so ever arose. However, I don't believe that Bellwether makes a practice of selling such books. May 19, 2010 update : In a video of a speech posted today, presumably given to an Arab-American audience , John Brennan discusses his own biography with quite a few points of interest, complete with a quite passable section in which he speaks Arabic. But most informative is this sentence: “I marveled at the majesty of the hajj and the devotion of those who fulfilled their duty as Muslims by making that pilgrimage.” Given that only Muslims may enter Mecca and its surrounding areas, where the hajj takes place, this clearly but discreetly implies that Brennan is a convert to Islam. Mar. 8, 2013 update : In a highly unusual move, John Brennan was sworn in as director of central intelligence today on a 1787 draft of the U.S. Constitution . Some have piquantly noted that that this draft lacks the Bill of Rights. True, but for me the point has more to do with Brennan not wanting to give his religion away by using a sacred scripture. दूसरा, इस विषय पर प्रत्येक अध्ययन में व्यक्तिगत तनाव ( गरीबी, शिक्षा का अभाव, बेरोजगारी) और कट्टरपंथी इस्लाम के प्रति आकर्षण में कोई सम्बंध नहीं पाया गया है। यदि कोई है भी तो यह कि 1970 से मध्य पूर्व की ओर विशाल मात्रा में सम्पत्ति के हस्तांतरण से कट्टरपंथी इस्लाम के उत्थान में सहयोग मिला है। प्रशासन अपनी नीतियों का आधार असत्य को बना रहा है।

Those who want this change - including Mr. al-Sistani and the Governing Council's current president - will presumably continue to press for their vision. Iraq's leading militant Islamic figure, Muqtada al-Sadr, has threatened that his constituency will “attack its enemies” if Sharia is not “the source” and the pro-Tehran political party in Iraq has echoed Sadr's ultimatum. When the interim constitution does take force, militant Islam will have blossomed in Iraq. दूसरा अन्तरिम संविधान तो केवल एक रास्ता है । इस्लामवादी निश्चित रुप से इसके उदारवादी प्रावधानों पर दबाव बनाकर प्रभावी रुप से शरियत को इराकी कानून का स्रोत बना लेंगे।अल सिस्तानी और वर्तमान प्रशासकीय परिषद के अध्यक्ष उन लोगों के साथ जो इस परिवर्तन के पक्षधर हैं अपने दृष्टिकोण के लिए दबाव डालते रहेगें। इराक के अग्रणी इस्लामवादी नेता मुक्तादा अलसद्र ने धमकी दी है कि यदि शरियत को स्रोत नहीं बनाया गया तो उनके समर्थक अपने शत्रुओं पर आक्रमण करेंगें और इराक में तेहरान समर्थक राजनीतिक दल ने भी सद्र की चेतावनी को प्रतिध्वनित किया है ।
