Amidst this in 1566, returning to the city from a Madarasa(region of today's old fort) which was built by his right hand Maham Anka, there was a severe attack by an arrow on Akbar, which he survived because of his agility, still he suffered heavy wound on his arm. इसी बीच १५६६ में महाम अंका नामक उसकी धाय के बनवाये मदरसे (वर्तमान पुराने किले परिसर में) से शहर लौटते हुए अकबर पर तीर से एक जानलेवा हमला हुआ जिसे अकबर ने अपनी फुर्ती से बचा लिया हालांकि उसकी बांह में गहरा घाव हुआ।

A young and promising poet , Satis Roy , whom Tagore loved as his own son and who an idealist like himself , had joined his school staff at Santiniketan , and might in course of time have been his right hand , suddenly died of small-pox . एक युवा और होनहार कवि सतीश राय अचानक चेचक से चल बसा.रवीन्द्रनाथ उसे अपने पुत्र की तरह प्यार करते थे.वह उन्हीं की तरह एक आदर्शवादी और शांतिनिकेतन की अध्यापक-मंडली का सदस्य था और आनेवाले वर्षों में वह उनका दायां हाथ भी सिद्ध होता .

If the object is very great , the kings blind a Brahman and mutilate him cutting off his left hand and right foot , or the right hand and left foot , whilst they mutilate a Kshatriya without blinding him , and kill thieves of the other castes . यदि वस्तु मूल्यवान हो तो राजा ब्राह्मण को अंधा कर देते हैं और उसका बायां हाथ तथा दायां पैर या दायां हाथ और बायां पैर काटकर उसे विकलांग कर देते हैं जबकि वे क्षत्रिय को विकलांग तो करते हैं किंतु उसे अंधा नहीं करते और अन्य जातियों के चोरों का वध कर देते हैं .

It goes on. Seventh graders adopt the speech of pious believers, greeting each other with “assalam aleikoom, fellow Muslims” and using phrases such as “God willing” and “Allah has power over all things.” They pronounce the militant Islamic war-cry, Allahu akbar (“God is great.”) They must even adopt Muslim mannerisms: “Try a typical Muslim gesture where the right hand moves solemnly... across the heart to express sincerity.” यह प्रक्रिया चलती ही जाती है। सातवीं कक्षा के छात्र स्वच्छ आस्था की भाषा बोलें, एक दूसरे का अभिवादन करते हुए साथी मुस्लिम को “ अस्लाम वाले कुम” कहें और “ ईश्वर की इच्छा” “सभी चीजों पर अल्लाह का अधिकार है” जैसे वाक्याँशों का प्रयोग करें।
