"Amphidromus " is found from the Garo Hills and Khasi Hills of Meghalaya in northeastern India, throughout Burma, Malay Peninsula, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia as far east as the Sulawesi, Banda Islands, Timor and the Tenimber Islands ( but not on Ceram, Buru, Halmahera, Batjan Island, the Obi Islands, the Aru and Kei Islands, or the Talaud Archipelago and some Celebesian satellite islands ), in the southern Philippines, notably Mindanao and the Balabac, Palawan, and in northern Australia.
