It is reported that Bombay alone discharges about 1,800 million litres of untreated waste water -LRB- sewage and trade effluents -RRB- daily into the Arabian Sea arid the Thane creek . The seashore becomes a dumping ground for solid wastes as well as industrial effluents . एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार मुंबई शहर से ही लगभग 18 करोड़ लीटर अनुपचारित गंदा पानी ( मलजल और उद्योगों का अपशिष्ट ) रोजाना अरब सागर और थाने की खाड़ी में बहाया जाता है सागर तट अब ठोस कचरा और औद्योगिक कचरा फेंकने के स्थान बन गये है .
