As matters were heading for a climax which would give the British Government a reasonable excuse to stay on to keep peace , the bitter draught of partition had to be swallowed and it was decided that India be divided into two partsone under the name of Pakistan , consisting of western Punjab , the North-West Frontier Province , Baluchistan , Sind , and eastern Bengal , and the other comprising the rest of the country . चुकिं मामले चरम सीमा पर पहुंच रहे थे , जो ब्रिटिश सरकादर को शांति बनाये रखने के लिए भारत में बनें रहने को उपयुक़्त बहाना देते थे.अत : विभाजन का कडुआ घूंट पीना पड़ा और यह निश्चय किया गया कि भारत को दो भागों में विभाजित कर दिया जायेएक पाकिस्तान के नाम सें , जिसमें पश्चिमी पंजाब , उत्तर-पश्चिम सीमांत प्रांत , बलोचिस्तान , सिंध और पूर्वी बंगाल शामिल हों और दूसरे मे देश का बचा हुआ भाग शामिल रहे .
