The Court of Ses- sions has jurisdiction once a case has properly come before it , that is , on a legal order of committal . सत्र सुपुर्द करने की विधिक कार्रवाई के बाद मामला विधिवत सामने आने पर उस पर सत्र न्यायालय की अधिकारिता हो जाती है .

The jurisdiction under Article 226 extends to revenue matters unlike under the Government of India Act . अनुच्छेद 226 के अधीन प्रदत्त अधिकारिता राजस्व संबंधी मामलों को भी अपनी परिधि में लेती है.भारत शासन अधिनियम में ऐसा नहीं था .
