So great was their cumulative assistance, one wonders if the State of Israel could have come into existence without their contribution. आर्मी आफ शैडो में कोहेन ने दिखाया है कि समायोजक फिलीस्तीनियों ने पवित्र भूमि में राज्य पूर्व यहूदी समुदाय यिशुवा के लिये भूमिका निभाई। उन्होंने मजदूर उपलब्ध कराये, व्यापार में लगे, भूमि बेची, शस्त्र बेचे, राज्य की परिसम्पत्ति को हस्तान्तरित किया , शत्रु सेना के बारे में गुप्तचर सूचनायें प्रदान कीं , अफवाह और मतभेद फैलाया , साथी फिलीस्तीनियों को आत्मसमर्पण करने के लिये समझाया,यिशुवा के शत्रुओं से युद्ध किया तथा यहाँ तक कि शत्रु की पंक्ति के पीछे से भी कार्य किया। उनका योगदान और सहयोग इतना अधिक था कि यह अचरज होता है कि क्या उनके सहयोग के बिना इजरायल राज्य अस्तित्व में आ पाता।
