The project will work out a package of agricultural policies and programmesto improve the efficient utilization of resourcesand food security for masses and reduction in regional disparities. यह परियोजना संसाधनों के सफल प्रयोग और जन-समूह के लिए भोजन सुरक्षा को बेहतर बनाने के लिए तथा प्रादेशिक असमानताओं में कटौती करने के लिए कृषीय नीतियों और कार्यक्रमों का एक पैकेज तैयार कर रही है।

However, India would have been in an even better position now both in terms of agricultural output and economic development had our planners given the required importance to its development it deserved in the early years since independence. फ़िर भी अगर हमारे योजनाकारों ने स्वतंत्रता के प्रारंभिक वर्षों में भारत के उस विकास को अपेक्षित महत्व दिया होता जिसका वह पात्र था, तो कृषीय उत्पादन और आर्थिक विकास कई दृष्टि से आज वह और भी बेहतर स्थिति में होता।

Most of the states in the country have set up Agricultural Produce Marketing Boards and Civil Supplies Corporations to deal with marketing and distribution of various commodities which are produced or sold in specific regions in the country देश के विशिष्ट क्षेत्रों में उत्पॅफ होने वाले या बेचे जाने वाले विविध पण्यों की खरीद-फ़रोख्त और उनके वितरण से निपटने के लिये देश के अधिकतर राज्यों में कृषीय उत्पाद विपणन समितियाँ और नागरिक आपूर्ति निगम स्थापित किये गये हैं.

Institute of Development Studies at Jaipur has taken up a comprehensive all-India research project 'Equity-driven trade and marketing policy strategies for improved performance of Indian Agriculture' on agricultural reforms with financial support from the Australian government. ऑस्ट्रेलिआई सरकार के आर्थिक समर्थन से विकास अध्ययन संस्थान, जयपुर ने कृषीय सुधारों पर एक व्यापक अखिल-भारतीय शोध परियोजना ' भारतीय कृषि के बेहतर निष्पादन के लिए निष्पक्षता प्रेरित व्यापार और विपणन नीति योजनाएँ ' प्रारंभ की है।

The state government has prepared a master plan for the integrated development of 1,930 markets including 405 rural markets in the state ७२३ नियंत्रित बाज़ारों के विकास के निधिकरण के लिये यह प्रस्तावित किया गया है कि १२ प्रतिसत ब्याज पर दो व के ऋणस्थगन के बाद १४ वर्षों में प्रतिदेय ५० प्रतिसत निधि केंद्र सरकार से प्राप्त की जाये, २५ प्रतिसत राज्य सरकार द्वारा और २५ प्रतिसत कृषीय उत्पाद विपणन समितियों द्वारा दी जाएगी.

Later on it will be extended to all crops including oilseeds, horticulture, etc and all sorts of agricultural activities like fisheries, animal husbandry, sericulture, and so on. बाद में इसे तेलहनों, उद्यान-कृषि आदि सभी फसलों तथा मत्स्य-उद्योग, पशुपालन,रेशम-उत्पादन आदि जैसे सभी प्रकार के कृषीय क्रिया-कलापों तक विस्तारित किया जायेगा. जिन कृषकों ने किसी भी सरकारी संस्था से ऋण का लाभ उठाया है, उनके लिये यह योजना अनिवार्य होगी दूसरों के लिये वैकल्पिक.

There is a need to give more attention to high growth areas like animal husbandry and dairy and fishery and also improve and expand and upgrade the marketing and storage and distribution infrastructure and set up facilities for packaging and grading and certification of agricultural commodities. पशु-पालन, डेयरी, और मत्स्य-उद्योग जैसे अधिक उपज क्षेत्रों में अधिक ध्यान देने की, विपणन, संग्रहण और वितरण अवसंरचना को बेहतर बनाने, उनका विस्तार करने और सुधारने की और कृषीय पण्यों के पार्सल बनाने, श्रेणीकरण और प्रमाणीकरण करने की सुविधाएँ उपल्ब्ध कराने की आवश्यकता है।

The union government has also set up a number of organizations, under the aegis of ministry of agriculture and ministry of commerce, such as commodity boards, cooperative federations and export promotion councils for monitoring and boosting the production, consumption, marketing and export of various agricultural commodities केंद्र सरकार ने कृषि मंत्रालय और वाणिज्य मंत्रालय के तत्त्वावधान में उत्पादन, खपत, खरीद-फ़रोख्त और विभिॅफ कृषीय पण्यों के निर्यात का निरीक्षण करने और उसे बढ़ावा देने के लिए कई संस्थाएँ स्थापित की हैं, जैसे पण्य मंडल, सहकारी संघ और निर्यात प्रोत्साहन परिषद्.
