No doubt the Muslims , as coreligionists of the Sultan and forming the bulk of the army on which he depended , were on the whole treated better than the non-Muslims . इसमे कोई संदेह नहीं कि सुल्तान के सह-धर्मावलंबी होने तथा सेना में मुसलमानों के बड़ी संख़्या में होने के कारण , जिन पर वह निर्भर करता था , कुल मिलाकर गैर मुसलमानों की अपेक्षा मुसलमानो से अच्छा व्यवहार किया जाता था किंतु मुसलमानो के बीच भी भेदभाव किया जाता था .

No doubt , there is some difference in the relations which the Muslim social groups have with one another and those which the Hindu castes or sub-castes have among themselves , but it is a difference of degree , not of kind . इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि मुसलमानों में एक समूह के दूसरे के साथ जो संबध है उनमें और हिंदू जाZतियों के आपस में जो संबध है , उसमें कुछ अंतर है कितु यह Zअंतर और हिदू जातियों या उप जातियों के आपस में जो संबंध है , उसमें कुछ अंतर है किंतु यह अंतर मात्रा का है , गुणों का नहीं .

No doubt enormous financial resources are required for providing free primary education to the whole age-group six to fourteen and at the same time giving all deserving and talented children stipends for studying in high schools and universities . इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि 6 से 14 वर्ष की उम्र के समूह में सभी को नि : शुल्क प्राथमि शिक्षा देने तथा साथ ही सभी योग़्य कुशाग्र बुद्धि बच्चों को स्कूल और विश्वविद्यालय में उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के लिए छात्रवृति देने हेतु बड़ी मात्रा में आर्थिक साधनों की जरूरत है .

No doubt if he spends some time in a new place , he can pick up enough of the local language to get along but in spite of a common background of religious beliefs and thought in general , he cannot come in intimate contact with the people around him because there is no common medium for the exchange of deeper thoughts . इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि यदि वे नयी जगह पर कुछ समय बिताते हैं तो स्थानीय भाषा का काम चलाऊ ज्ञान हो जाता है किंतु समान धार्मिक आस्थाओं तथा सामान्य विचारों की पृष्ठभूमि के होने हुए भी वे अपने आसपास के लोगों के घनिष्ठ संपर्क में नहीं आ पाते , क़्योंकि गहरे विचारों के आदान-प्रदान के लिए एक समान भाषा का माध्यम नहीं है .

As for English literature , no doubt they spent a considerable part of their school and university life reading a few of its selected pieces , but after finishing their studies , most never touched a book of any literary worth , their reading being confined mainly to the novels of the season or detective stories . जहां तक अंग्रजी साहित्य का संबध है , इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि उन्होनें अपने स्कूल और विश्वविद्यालयीन जीवन बहुत सा भाग कुछ चुनी हुई कृतियों के अध्ययन में बिताया किंतु अपना अध्ययन समाप्त करने के बाद अधिकांश ने साहित्यिक महत्व की पुस्तकों को कभी नहीं छुआ और उनका पढ़ना मुख़्य रूप से सामाजिक उपन्यास या जासूसी कहानियों तक ही सीमित रहा .

When the New generation of English civil servants sincerely believing in their racial and cultural superiority and their holy imperialistic mission , came to India and saw the whole country benumbed and bowed down by terror , there was no doubt in their minds that they had to deal with a depressed people whom it was their sacred duty to uplift through Western education and culture . जब अंग्रेज शासकीय कर्मचारियों की नयी पीढ़ी जो अपनी जातिगत तथा सांस्कृति श्रेष्ठा और अपने पवित्र साम्राज़्यवादी मिशन पर निष्ठापूर्वक विश्वास करती थी , भारत आयी और संपूर्ण देश को भय से शक़्तिहीन तथा समर्पित देखा , तो उनकी मस्तिष्क में कोई संदेह नहीं रह गया कि उन्हें दबे हुए लोगों से व्यवहार करना है , जिन्हें पश्चिमी शिक्षा और संस्कृति के माध्यम से ऊपर उठाना उनका पवित्र कर्तव्य है .
