In addition to the numerous divine sculptures on the vimana and ardha-mandapa and contemporary inscriptions , the most interesting part of this temple would be a series of panelled sculptures narrating the history of the Pallavas from their legendary ancestors down to the time of Nandivarman II Pallavamalla , the builder of the templea unique feature rarely met with elsewhere . विमाकन और अर्धमंडप पर बनी अनेक दैवी शिल्पाकृतियों और समकालीन अभिलेखों के अतिरिक़्त इस मंदिर की सर्वाधिक रोचक बात यह है कि इसमें फलक शिल्पों की एक श्रृंखला है , जिसमें पल्लवों के अनुश्रुत पूर्वजों से लेकर , मंदिर के निर्माता नंदीवर्मन द्वितीय पल्लवमल्ल के समय तक पल्लव इतिहास का वर्णन है .
