The Additional Sessions Court was formed for early settlement of long-standing crimes and under trial cases.The reason behind this was that the longest running cases resulted in the loss, obstruction of justice and increase in the crowd strength in Jails.On the advice of the 10th commission the Central Government instructed the State Governments to start 1734 fast track courts from 1st April 1734.
