Days later, a fellow correspondent on an Internet mailing list focusing on music ( among other things ) mentioned a Web-address file named HOSTS . I checked the file, which is pure text, and found URLs for all the sites I couldn't reach, with addresses I recognized as the ones I was being directed to instead of the correct ones.
