After four years of service, he moved to the Administrative Staff College of India ( ASCI ), as the chairman of the Court of Governors of the institute, succeeding S . M . Datta, and holds the post till date.

He has been a Visiting Fellow, London School of Economics, a full-time UGC Visiting Professor in Department of Business Management, Osmania University; full-time Visiting Faculty, Administrative Staff College of India and continues to be the Honorary Senior Fellow at Centre for Economic and Social Studies at Hyderabad.

After a brief period at the Administrative Staff College, Henley ( now Henley Business School ) he joined University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology ( UMIST ) as professor of industrial economics ( 1975 88 ), later serving as both vice-principal ( 1983-5 ) and dean ( 1985-7 ).

He was employed converting Greenlands, Hambleden, Buckinghamshire as a Government administrative staff college in 1945, occasioning the loss of some apparently not very characteristic or notable interior work by Norman Shaw; the commission was extended to include conversion of the north range to dormitory bedrooms in 1946, the conversion of the stable block to a library in 1951, and development of a freestanding dormitory on a butterfly-wing-plan, with a " bold flying staircase ", in 1955.

As a Visiting Lecturer, he has also delivered and still continues to deliver lectures at many professional and training institutions including National Defence College ( Now National Defence University ( Islamabad ), Command and Staff College ( Quetta ), Joint Staff College ( Rawalpindi ), Foreign Service Training Institute ( Islamabad ), Information Services Academy ( Islamabad ), Allama Iqbal Open University ( Islamabad ), Pakistan Administrative Staff College ( Renamed as National School of Public Policy, Lahore ), Intelligence Bureau Academy etc.
