In accordance with s 27 ( 2 ), an application for review can also be made by " an organisation or association of persons . . . if the decision relates relates to a matter included in the objects or purposes of the organisation or association ".

It is free to file an application for review of a decision listed in section 22 of the " Administrative Appeals Tribunal Regulation 2015 " which, among other things, includes some decisions made by Centrelink, decisions made with regards to military or veteran compensation, and some Freedom of Information decisions.

An application for review can be made by, or on behalf of, " any person or persons . . . whose interests are affected by the decision . " A leading authority on the meaning of the phrase " interests are affected " is " McHattan and Collector of Customs ( NSW ) ".

Under Order XL of the Supreme Court Rules, that have been framed under its powers under Article 145 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court may review its judgment or order but no application for review is to be entertained in a civil proceeding except on the grounds mentioned in Order XLVII, Rule 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure.

The FCC did eventually approve the sale, in March 2008, upheld following an Application for Review to the full FCC, and while the parties involved in the campaign to try to regain the frequency continued on for several years with the state, the station has not been affected by those other matters as the issues raised by those parties concerned the seller only.

The provision states : " Notwithstanding any other provisions of the Carl D . Perkins Vocational Education Act, a State will be deemed to have maintained fiscal efforts pursuant to section 503 of that Act in regard to any claims appealed through applications for review filed on April 30, 1993 or October 29, 1993 pursuant to section 452 ( b ) of the General Education provisions Act ."
