Its main activities consist of excavations and archaeological studies throughout the Albanian territory, and the scientific and methodical direction of the archaeologic museum that it has under its jurisdiction, in Tirana, Durr�s, Apollonia, Butrint, and Kor��.

As a museum it gathered several stores from the Dioceses of Vitoria for religious art, from the Museo del Prado and the National Archaeologic Museum, from the School of Arts and Trades to keep some local paintings, and from some private citizens.

The ancient Greek colony of "'Gyenos "'( ) is supposed to have located near Ochamchire, though the identification cannot be considered as definitive because of doubts as to the actual location and the very poor preservation of the archaeologic site itself.

Cid L�pez has participated in four archaeologic excavations ( regional and national ) and was co-director of the excavations in Lugo of Llanera ( Asturias ) in the period of 1987 to 1989 . She is the author and editor of multiple publications and scientific documents in diverse magazines and books, including the Spanish translation of the work of Fran�oise Th�baud " Escribir la historia de las mujeres y del g�nero " ( Write the history of women and gender ).
