According to an April poll of the Gaza-based General Institute for Information, 94 percent of Palestinians believe that a state of lawlessness and chaos prevails in Palestinian Authority territories. As Palestinian security forces have fragmented and dissolved, armed groups of unknown identity have taken their place, using strong-arm tactics against a hapless population. The Jerusalem-based Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group finds that “weapons possession has become socially legitimized in Palestinian society.” गाजा स्थित जेनरल इंस्टीट्यूट फॉर इंनफोरमेशन द्वारा अप्रैल में किये गए जनमत सर्वेक्षण के अनुसार 94 प्रतिशत फिलीस्तीनी मानते हैं कि फिलीस्तीनी अथॉरिटी राज्य क्षेत्र में कानून विहीनता और अराजकता की स्थिति प्रभावी है.

When the white man set foot in Asia, Africa, or America, death, chaos, and destruction followed. There is a state of chaos.” That's what Ahmed Qureia said after announcing his resignation from what some call the Palestinian Authority's prime ministry. “We have an absolute state of chaos,” echoes the mayor of Jenin , a West Bank town. That chaos, growing since Yasir Arafat initiated the Oslo War in September 2000, has prompted the PA to declare a state of emergency; it could signal the end of the PA itself. अराजकता में गिरते फिलीस्तीनी अहमद क्वेरिया जिन्हें कुछ लोग फिलीस्तीनी अथॉरिटी का प्रधानमंत्री कहते हैं उन्होंने अपने पद से त्यागपत्र की घोषणा करते हुए कहा है “एक संकट है और अराजकता की स्थिति है ..”पश्चिमी तट के कस्बे जेनिन के मेयर ने भी यही प्रतिध्वनित किया कि हम पूरी तरह अराजकता की स्थिति में हैं .इस अराजकता का आरंभ सितंबर 2000 में ओस्लो युद्ध की घोषणा से हुआ .इसके बाद फिलीस्तीनी अथॉरिटी को आपातकाल घोषित करना पड़ा जो कि स्वयं फिलीस्तीनी अथॉरिटी के अंत का संकेत हो सकता है.
