This history contradicts the Palestinian account that “Zionist gangs stole Palestine and expelled its people” which led to a catastrophe “unprecedented in history” (according to a PA 12 th -grade textbook) or that Zionists “plundered the Palestinian land and national interests, and established their state upon the ruins of the Palestinian Arab people” (writes a columnist in the PA's daily). International organizations, newspaper editorials, and faculty petitions reiterate this falsehood worldwide. Israelis should hold their heads high and point out that the building of their country was based on the least violent and most civilized movement of any people in history. Those goals are simple, static, and binary. The Arabs fight to eliminate Israel; Israel fights to win the acceptance of its neighbors. The first is offensive in intent; the second is defensive. The former is barbaric, and the latter civilized. Likewise, the Arab-Israeli conflict will be resolved only when one side gives up. Until now, through round after round of war, both sides have retained their goals. Israel fights to win acceptance by its enemies, while those enemies fight to eliminate Israel. Those goals are raw, unchanging, and mutually contradictory. Israel's acceptance or elimination are the only states of peace. Each observer must opt for one solution or the other. A civilized person will want Israel to win, for its goal is defensive, to protect an existing and flourishing country. Its enemies' goal of destruction amounts to pure barbarism. इसी प्रकार अरब इजरायल संघर्ष मे यह तभी समाप्त होगा जब एक पक्ष हार मान लेगा। अभी तक अनेक चरणों के युद्ध के बाद भी दोनों ही पक्ष अपने उद्देश्यों पर कायम हैं। इजरायल अपने शत्रुओं से अपनी स्वीकार्यता के लिये लड रहा है जबकि उसके शत्रु इजरायल को नष्ट करने के लिये लड रहे हैं। दोनों के लक्ष्य एक दूसरे के विपरीत हैं और बदलने वाले भी नहीं हैं। इजरायल की स्वीकार्यता या नष्ट होना ही शांति की स्थिति है। सभी विश्लेषकों को समझना चाहिये कि शांति कि यही स्थिति हो सकती है। सभ्य लोग इजरायल की विजय चाहते हैं क्योंकि इसका उद्देश्य रक्षात्मक है तथा एक अस्तित्वमान और फल फूल रहे देश को बचाना है। इसके शत्रुओं का ध्वस्त करने का उद्देश्य पूरी तरह बर्बर है।
