In Keshavananda Bharti v . State of Kerala -LRB- AIR 1973 SC 146 -RRB- , the Supreme Court held that despite inclusion in the 9th Schedule , a law could be challenged on the ground of being violative of the basic features of the Constitution and that the power of judicial review to question whether a law was in pursuance of directive principles could not be taken away . केशवानन्द भारती बनाम केरल राज्य ( ए आई आर 1973 एस सी 146 ) के मामले में उच्चतम न्यायालय ने निर्णय दिया कि नवम अनुसूची में समाविष्ट होने के बावजूद किसी विधि को संविधान की बुनियादी विशेषज्ञताओं का उल्लंघन किए जाने के आधार पर चुनौती दी जा सकती है और यह कि कोई विधि निदेशक तत्वों के अनुरूप है या नहीं , इसके निर्णय संबंधी न्यायिक पुनर्विलोकन के अधिकार को छीना नहीं जा सकता .
