"Lost Planet Airmen " tells of a scientist, a member of the group Science Associates, who uses a newly developed jet-powered rocket backpack ( mounted on a leather jacket with an attached streamlined flying helmet ) in order to thwart the threat of the mysterious " Dr . Vulcan " to destroy New York City with a ray device which causes earthquakes.
