Among the lots with a Palm Beach provenance, which Gagen describes as having a lighter feeling, " with an emphasis on painted furniture and fruitwoods that matched the environment " of the island and Magowan's Bermudian-style house, is a group of George II-style carved limewood wall carvings that are favorites of Gagen's.

Brown incorporated many unique features into the house, from four French marble fireplace mantles to antique French fruitwood doors that enclose the built-in home entertainment equipment and television set; Rococo paneling in the formal dining room with fireplace; elegant French door windows; slate and red Spanish tile floors; fountains in many of the rooms and a working faience stove.

These include a 14th-century fragment of a headjoint excavated in Esslingen, Germany ( " Esslingen fragment " ); a birch instrument dated to the second half of the 14th century unearthed in Tartu, Estonia ( " Tartu recorder " ); and a fruitwood instrument dated to the 15th century, found in Elblg, Poland ( " Elblg recorder " ).

Other works in the show include a red japanned secretary bookcase, circa 1690, with a spectacular silver gilt carved crest in the Baroque style; a carved and gilded center table with unusual double-curved stretchers from about 1710; a mahogany console from about 1745 with carved lion masks; and a pair of neoClassical demilune tables with intricate fruitwood marquetry designs from about 1775.

The "'bench "'is a glassblower's workstation, and has a place for the glassblower to sit, a place for the handheld tools, and two rails that the pipe or punty rides on while the blower works with the piece . "'Blocks "'are ladle-like tools made from water-soaked fruitwood, and are used similarly to the marver to shape and cool a piece in the early steps of creation . "'Jacks "'are tools shaped somewhat like large tweezers with two blades, which are used for forming shape later in the creation of a piece . "'Paddles "'are flat pieces of wood or graphite used for creating flat spots such as a bottom . "'Tweezers "'are used to pick out details or to pull on the glass.
