Punjab under the leadership of Lala Lajpat Rai took the lead and on 30th October , 1928 a peaceful procession was taken out in the streets of Lahore , holding aloft the banners ' Simon Go Back ' , ' India for Indians ' , etc . लाला लाजपत राय के नेतृत्व में , पंजाब ने इसमें पहल की और 30 अक़्तूबर 1928 को , लाहौर की सड़कों पर ' साइमन,वापिस जाओ ' , ' भारत हमारा है ' , हत्यादि नारों के बैनर लिए एक शांतिपूर्ण जुलूस निकाला गया .

Our looks and attire separated us from the ranks of the faithfulwe had neither beards nor caste-marksand we carried on an irreverent and somewhat aggressive commentary on the procession and its sponsors . हमारी न तो दाढ़ी थी और न हमारे मत्थों पर कोई टीका वगैरह था.हम जुलूस में शामिल लोगों और उनके कार्यकर्ताओं पर आपस में टीका-टिप्पणी करते चल रहे थे , तभी हमारे खिलाफ गंदे गंदे नारे लगाये जाने शुरू हो गये और कुछ धक़्का-मुक़्की भी हुई .

The most interesting painting is a panel depicting the sage Vidyaranya , a lineal successor of Sankaracharya and pontiff of the Sringeri matha , being taken in a procession in a palanquin with royal honours and paraphernalia to the Virupaksha temple . सर्वाधिक रूचिकर चित्र एक पैनल है जिसमें , शंकराचार्य के एक उत्तराधिकारी और श्रृंगेरी मठ के धर्माचार्य संत विद्यारण्य को राज सम्मान और साज सामान सहित पालकी में बैठाकर जुलूस में विरूपाक्ष मंदिर ले जाते हुए दिखाया गया है .

On the second Independence Day , 26th January 1931 , Subhas Chandra Bose as Calcutta 's Mayor accompanied by senior officers and followed by a large procession advanced from the municipal headquarters towards the maidan in defiance of a police ban . 26 जनवरी , 1931 द्वितीय स्वाधीनता दिवस था.इस अवसर पर , कलकत्ता के महापौर के रूप में , वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ एक विशाल जुलूस की अगुआई करते और पुलिस की निषेधाज्ञा को चुनौती देते हुए सुभाष चन्द्र बोस ने निगम मुख़्यालय से मैदान की ओर कूच किया .

Gwalior : When Ekatmavamati , 48 , finally died her body , still in the lotus position , was put into a palanquin and carried in a procession to the cremation ground . For she had performed Sanlekhana-death by invitation . ईश्वरीय आमंत्रण पर मौत का आलिंगन ग्वालियरः 48 वर्षीया एकत्मवती ने दम तोड़ तो उनका शव कमल पुष्प की आकृति में रखने के बाद पालकी में सजाकर विशाल शोभायात्रा में दाह स्थल पर ले जाया गया क्योंकि उन्होंने संलेघ्ना-ईश्वरीय आमंत्रण पर मौत-का आलिंगन किया था .
