Tomba has trained with varying degrees of diligence for several years in this lovely and well-touristed stretch of the Italian Alps, hitting the slopes in the not-too-early morning with his private six-man entourage, including Coach Gustavo Thoeni, an Italian skiing legend in his own right who personally lays out the practice courses.
