Use a blanket or sheet to cover plants overnight; it'll keep them warm and protect them from wind . ( If you're afraid your plants will be crushed, stick wire from coat hangers in the ground and use them to hold up the covering . ) Remember to hold the blanket down with a rock or a brick so it doesn't blow away.
