Much of his session work has gone uncredited but he has been named as the electric guitarist on Donovan's " Hurdy Gurdy Man ", the Walker Brothers'" 1984 ", Mike Batt's " The Ride to Agadir " and the " Top of the Pops " theme music version of " Whole Lotta Love ".

These included Jack and Victor sighing contentedly and one of the two saying " Is that you ? " with the other replying " Oh, aye, that's me . " Arguably the most common was one where Jack and Victor hummed a song ( " Hurdy gurdy gurdy, in the windae boxes " ).

Even after " Troubadour : The Definitive Collection 1964-1976 " reintroduced " Poor Cow " and " Teen Angel ", " Preachin'Love " and " Aye My Love " were unique to " Donovan's Greatest Hits and More " until they were included as bonus tracks on the 2005 remastered versions of " Mellow Yellow " and " The Hurdy Gurdy Man ".

S . : As to other celebrity sightings, Donovan, who plays the Cafe Du Nord next Tuesday through Thursday, stopped in at the Fillmore on Saturday-- the bass player from his latest CD was playing with Richard Thompson-- and joined Henry Kaiser on some classic Donovan tunes : " Season of the Witch, " " Hurdy Gurdy Man " and " Mellow Yellow ."

Donovan was not working toward an album when he recorded " Lal�na ", having completed the tracks which would comprise his " The Hurdy Gurdy Man " album in April 1968; that album and the single " Lal�na " both were issued in the US in October 1968 ( Donovan was at this time unable to have product released in the UK due to a contractual dispute ).
