Al-Biruni does not mention specifically the name of Gaudapada , the preceptor of the great Sankaracharya , but Sachau suggests that Gauda the anchorite mentioned here may be identified with Gaudapada . अल-बिरूनी ने गौड़पाद का नाम लिखते समय यह स्पष्ट रूप से नहीं बताया कि वह शंकराचार्य के गुरू थे , अलबत्ता सखाउ का यह मत है कि यहां जिस गौड़ मुनि का उल्लेख हुआ है उसे गौड़पाद माना जा सकता है .
