1. Female trees bear small flowers on short branchlets of their own. 2. It's branchlets are often bent alternately in different directions. 3. The branches are lined with cord-like, horizontal branchlets . 4. The branchlets have prickles and are green or blue / green. 5. Branchlets grey and hairy, somewhat four angled in cross section.6. The branchlets are smooth, bluish grey with prominent leaf scars. 7. Branchlets smooth and green, turning grey with light coloured speckles.8. The flowers appear in clusters at the ends of the branchlets . 9. Whitish cream with rusty hairs under the leaf and small branchlets . 10. Erect to spreading shrub, young branchlets sparsely to moderately hairy.
