Topse took Magisterkonferens in chemistry in 1866 and doctorate for a chemical-crystallographical work of selenium-sour salts.
2.
It has affinity for anions as chloride and iodide and is capable to retain them to a certain extent in its crystallographical structure.
3.
In 1933, the curatorium of the " v . Portheim-Stiftung " gave its mineralogical-crystallographical institute the name " Victor-Goldschmidt-Institut fr Kristallforschung ".

In 1872, he received a gold medal of Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters, of which he was member from 1877, for a great crystallographical-optical work together with the physicist Christian Christiansen ( 1843 1917 ).

The physical properties of gallium are highly anisotropic, i . e . have different values along the three major crystallographical axes " a ", " b ", and " c " ( see table ), producing a significant difference between the linear ( ? ) and volume thermal expansion coefficients.
