The success of " Acanthophora spicifera " in invading benthic habitats is attributed to : ( 1 ) its ability to reproduce both sexually and vegetatively ( by fragmentation ); ( 2 ) successful epiphytism; and ( 3 ) its adaptability to a wide range of hydrological conditions.
