Sometime people place the deity in the middle of the fields and cook a special savoury gruel as offering . कही-कही देवता को खेतों के मध्य बैठकर लोग नमकीन हलवा बनाने में लग जाते है .

Each village there celebrates it with minor local variations people cook a savoury gruel known as Doon , on this day and eat it together . वहां के प्रत्येक गांव में इसके मनाने की परंपरा थोड़ी बहुत अंतर लिए है.इस दिन नमकीन हलवा ( दूं ) बनाकर खाया तथा बांटा जाता है .

Economic deprivation often forces the people of this barren region-predominantly tribals-to eat either gruel made of mango kernels or wild mushrooms . आर्थिक विपन्नता इस अनौपजाऊ क्षेत्र के निवासियों-जिनमें अधिकतर आदिवासी ही हैं-को आम की गु ली या जंगली मशरूम का दलिया खाने को मजबूर कर देती है .

According to state Government officials , since the gruel is prepared in unhygienic conditions and consumed over several weeks , it becomes fermented and therefore toxic , adding to the list of fatalities . अधिकारियों के मुताबिक , दलिया चूंकि अस्वास्थ्यकर तरीके से बनाई जाती है और इसे कई हतों तक खाया जाता है , इसलिए यह विषाक्त होकरौ मौत की वजह बन जाती है .
