The Supreme court has taken the initiative in playing a positive role in espousing the cause of the poor , indigent , undertrials , prisoners , women , bonded and unorganised labour , scheduled castes/tribes and the downtrodden , etc . In many such cases the court has entertained petitions without court fees and the technical requirement of presenting writs , having a petitioner and even without the aid of lawyers . अब उच्चतम न्यायालय ने गरीबों , दीनहीनों , विचारणाधीन बंदियों , बंदियों , स्त्रियों , बंधुआ और असंगठित मजदूरों , अनुसूचित जातियों/जनजातियों , दलितों आदि की समस्याओं को प्रकाश में लाने और उन्हें समर्थन प्रदान करने में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाने की पहल की है1 अनेक मामलों में उच्चतम न्यायालय ने न्यायालय फीस और रिट प्रस्तुत करने की बारिकियों , याचिकादाता के अस्तित्व और यहां तक कि वकीलों की मदद के बिना भी याचिकाएं विचारार्थ स्वीकार की हैं .
