No wonder that all attempts to arrive at a settlement of the communal question ended in failure when the members of the Minorities Committee were all chosen by the British Government . आक़स्मिक नहीं कि सांप्रदायिक मसले पर किसी भी समझौते पर पहुंचने की हर संभव कोशिश बेकार गयी , चूंकि अल्पसंख़्यक समिति के सदस्य खुद ब्रिटिश सरकार के चुने हुए थे .

With the blessings of the British government , a Minorities Pact was concluded by the so-called representatives of the minorities . The Pact not only assured a number of seats for the depressed classes but even separate electorates for them . ब्रिटिश सरकार के आशीर्वाद से अल्पसंख़्यकों के तथाकथित प्रतिनिधियों ने एक अल्पसंख़्यक-समझौता-माइनार्टीज पैक़्ट- तैयार किया , जिसमें दलितों के लिए आरक्षित सीटों का ही नहीं , अलग निर्वाचनमंडलों का भी प्रावधान था .
