It is the upper house of parliament. For the election of its members, two systems are followed. 238 members are The members are elected from states while 12 mem bers are nominates by the President इसे संसद का दूसरा सदन कह्ते है इसके सदस्य दो प्रकार से निर्वाचित होते है राज्यॉ से 238 को निर्वाचित करते है तथा राष्ट्रपति द्वारा 12 को मनोनीत करते है।
