But the most live and convincing character in the play is not this lovely and saintly but somewhat shadowy maiden , but her chief enemy , the leader of the Hindu orthodoxy , in whose proud personality is symbolised the strength and obstinacy of his religion . लेकिन इस नाटक में सुदर सात्विक और रहस्यमयी युवती ही जीवन या प्रभावशाली नहीं है अपितु इसका प्रमुख प्रतिपक्षी हिंदू कट्टरवाद का एक अगुआ है- जिसके अंहकारपूर्ण व्यक्तित्व में उसका धर्म , बल , आतंक और दंभ चित्रित हैं .
