The dundubhi players along with the flutist , tala clappers and other instrumentalists were considered sacred and ' sacrificed ' in the Mahavrata ceremony of winter solstice , Makara sankrant . वंशी-वादकों , ताल-वादकों और अन्य वादकों के साथ दुंदुभि-वादक भी पवित्र माने जाते और शरदकाल के महाव्रत मकर संक्रांति के अवसर पर उनकी बलि दी जाती .
