Jizya tax on Hindus was abolished by Akbar in 1562, but in 1575 it had to be reimposed due to the pressure from Muslim leaders, still, he abolished it again tactfully. हिन्दुओं पर लगे जज़िया १५६२ में अकबर ने हटा दिया किंतु १५७५ में मुस्लिम नेताओं के विरोध के कारण वापस लगाना पड़ा हालांकि उसने बाद में नीतिपूर्वक वापस हटा लिया।
