Along with other members I was also present at the port as the chairman of the reception committee , to for-mally welcome the guests of honour . स्वागताध्यक्ष के रूप में मैं संभ्रात नागरिकों के तथा अन्य अधिकरियों के साथ पहले ही बंदरगाह पर पहुंच गया था जहाज जेटी पर आ लगा .

Some earnest efforts have been made since then to bring these islands into the mainstream of national life by building roads , jetties and opening schools and hospitals . तब से इन द्वीपों को राष्ट्रीय जीवन की मुख्यधारा से जोड़ने के लिए सड़कें व नाव घाट ( जेटी ) बनाकर तथा स्कूल व अस्पताल खोलकर , निष्ठापूर्वक प्रयास किए गए हैं .
