Even as man slowly gained ground and ascendency over beasts , enslaved many of them and began disfiguring the surface of the Earth , the insects never yielded their natural dominance . मनुष्य ने धीरे धीरे शक़्ति ग्रहण कर पशुओं पर प्रभुत्व प्राप्त की और उनमें से बहुतों को अपना दास बनाया तथा पृथ्वी के स्वरूप को बिगाड़ना प्रारंभ किया फिर भी कीटों ने अपने प्राकृतिक प्रभुत्व को कभी भी नहीं छोड़ा .
