Though many high altitude insects feed on lichen , moss and other plants growing at high elevations , the great majority depend for their nourishment on the pollen grains , spores , seeds , dead spiders and insects lifted from the far-off hot and dusty plains of North India by the updraft air-currents in the hot weather . हालांकि बहुत से उच्च-तुंगता वाले कीट वहां पर उगने वाले लाइकेन , मॉस और अन्य पौधों का आहार करते हैं लेकिन बहुसंख़्यक कीट अपने पोषण क लिए गरम मौसम में ऊपर की ओर प्रवाहित वायु-धारा द्वारा उत्तर भारत के दूर दराज और धूलभरे मैदानी क्षेत्रों से उठाकर लाए गए परागकणों , बीजाणुओं , बीजों , मृत मकडियों और कीटों पर निर्भर करते हैं .
